ValleyBike Share Expands to Chicopee with Exciting New E-Bikes

ValleyBike Share is set to broaden its reach to Chicopee, Massachusetts with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for Monday. This expansion marks an exciting development for the Pioneer Valley’s bike-sharing system, which currently features 300 traditional bikes and 50 Drop e-bikes spread across nine communities, in addition to Chicopee.

The highlight of the event will be the introduction of new e-bikes to the Chicopee area. Attendees will have the chance to experience these cutting-edge electric bikes firsthand through a dedicated demo session. This initiative underscores ValleyBike Share’s commitment to promoting sustainable transportation options.

In partnership with Drop Mobility, known for their innovative electric bike technology, the event aims to offer Chicopee residents a fun and eco-friendly mode of transport. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. at 274 Front Street, and will feature Mayor John Vieau, city officials, and members of the Drop Mobility team.

Jacob Alan Roberts, Operations Manager at Drop Mobility, expressed enthusiasm about the event: “We are excited to bring our mobile demo kit, including 4-5 demonstration e-bikes, along with a tent, table, and small sound system, to create an engaging experience for all attendees.”

Mayor Vieau also shared his support, stating, “We are dedicated to introducing innovative solutions to our community. These new e-bikes will contribute to a cleaner, healthier Chicopee and offer our residents more transportation choices. I’m proud to back this effort to enhance sustainability and mobility in our city.”
