Urban Arrow Launches Updated Bosch-Powered Electric Cargo Bikes in the U.S.
Urban Arrow, a prominent player in the premium electric cargo bike market, has launched its updated Family Line of eCargo bikes featuring the innovative Bosch Smart System. Known for its family-friendly front-loader design, Urban Arrow aims to provide a powerful and eco-conscious alternative to cars, appealing to families looking to enhance their urban mobility experience.
The latest offerings include the Urban Arrow Family Performance and the Cargo Line, both engineered for improved safety, connectivity, and performance. The integration of the Bosch Smart System equips riders with real-time analytics, customizable riding modes, smartphone integration, and anti-theft bike tracking features. This technology empowers families to confidently manage their daily activities, from school runs to errands and leisurely rides on weekends.
Given the increasing concerns over bike theft, especially among premium e-bikes, Urban Arrow has made significant strides in security. The new Cargo Line model includes a Bosch Connect Module, enhancing safety features that many riders seek. This module utilizes motion sensors to trigger alarms and sends alerts to the owner’s smartphone in the event of tampering. Additionally, it enables remote motor locking, GPS tracking, and automated theft reporting to local authorities.
A key highlight of Urban Arrow’s Family Line is its spacious front-loading design, allowing children to ride in front of the adult operator. This setup fosters a closer interaction between the rider and young passengers, making it a safer and more practical choice than traditional long-tail cargo bikes, which position children behind the rider.
Safety is prioritized with a three-point seatbelt system and an EPP box designed to protect young passengers, resembling an inverted helmet for additional safety.
Customization plays a crucial role in the new models, allowing families to adapt the bike’s capacity to transport up to four children or extra cargo. Optional accessories such as rain and sun covers are available to shield passengers from the elements, and the bikes are compatible with car seats for younger kids.
Mark Danhof, Urban Arrow’s General Manager for North America, emphasized the growing trend of electric cargo bikes in the region, noting their rising popularity as a substitute for second vehicles. “As car ownership costs climb and urban infrastructure improves, e-cargo bikes are becoming more mainstream,” he stated. “Urban Arrow’s bikes offer a safe, spacious, and eco-friendly choice for families.”
The updated Family Line from Urban Arrow comes in two variants: the Performance Line and the Cargo Line. The Performance Line starts at $6,999 and features a 75Nm Bosch motor, a durable KMC chain, and an Intuvia 100 display. Meanwhile, the Cargo Line is available for $7,999 and boasts a more robust 85Nm motor, a maintenance-free Gates carbon belt, and an advanced Kiox display for complete smartphone integration. Both models are equipped with Bosch mid-drive motors and a larger 545Wh battery, ensuring a substantial range for daily use. Additionally, riders will benefit from an intuitive control system and a color display that presents all riding information at a glance.
