  • A white SUV struck the rider and left the scene

Driver Still at Large

Investigators believe the vehicle involved was a white SUV. Surveillance footage from a nearby business shows the SUV driving away after the crash.

The Burlington County Prosecutorโ€™s Office is assisting with the investigation.

Family members are asking the driver to come forward.

How Hit-and-Run Cases Are Investigated

In hit-and-run cases, police often rely on several key factors.

Surveillance video is one of the most important tools. Even footage from private homes or businesses can help track a vehicleโ€™s path.

Vehicle damage also matters. Cars involved in crashes like this often show broken parts, dents, or scraped panels. Repair attempts made shortly after a crash can raise red flags.

Public tips are critical. A single detail can help investigators narrow down suspects.

E-Bike Safety at Night

This crash highlights how dangerous riding at night can be, especially on busy roads.

Visibility is one of the biggest concerns for e-bike riders after dark.

Safety experts often recommend:

  • Bright front and rear lights
  • Reflective clothing or accessories
  • Riding predictably and defensively
  • Avoiding poorly lit roads when possible

Drivers also have a responsibility. E-bikes are legal vehicles. Riders deserve to make it home safely.

My Take

This is a heartbreaking situation. A man riding his e-bike lost his life, and a family is left searching for answers.

Hit-and-run crashes are especially painful because they add fear and uncertainty to an already tragic loss. Leaving the scene only makes things worse.

As e-bikes become more common, safety has to be a shared responsibility. Riders need visibility and protection. Drivers need awareness and accountability.

Finding the driver matters. Not just for justice, but for preventing this from happening again.
