Backou, a leading name in electric bikes for outdoor use, has expanded its lineup with two new electric dirt bikes designed with hunters and off-road riders in mind. The Puma X22 SD and Puma X24 are purpose-built for navigating rough terrain quietly and efficiently—ideal for backcountry travel, hunting, and remote adventures.

The Puma X22 SD, comparable in size to a traditional 250cc dirt bike, features an 84V, 73Ah lithium-ion battery. It charges fully in just two hours using a 40A charger. The bike includes a reverse gear, high ground clearance (12.5 inches), and a seat height of 34.5 inches—designed to handle challenging terrain with ease. It also comes equipped with full skid plates and optional accessories tailored for backcountry travel and hunting.
Performance Where It Counts
According to Backou, the X22 SD can reach speeds of up to 77 mph. Its off-road build, torque delivery, and maneuverability make it suitable not just for the wilderness, but also for sand dunes or motocross-style tracks.

The Puma X24: More Power, Limited Availability
The Puma X24 takes performance further. Sized similarly to a 450cc dirt bike, this model includes a manual transmission and enhanced suspension for larger riders or those carrying heavy gear. It uses the same battery as the X22 SD but features a higher-performance motor, allowing for a top speed of 100 mph.
The X24 also includes a reverse gear and is built on a full-size frame. However, it’s currently sold out and will be released in limited batches. Interested buyers can sign up on Backou’s website to be notified of restocks.
