New Braunfels, Texas Police Search for Thieves Who Stole $60K in E-Bikes

An investigation is underway after a brazen theft at a Texas Hill Country bike shop left the New Braunfels community reeling. Surveillance footage captured the alleged thieves as they made off with tens of thousands of dollars worth of electric bikes from Pedego Bikes on the morning of October 25.

According to the New Braunfels Police Department (NBPD), the individuals behind the theft stole a U-Haul truck from the U-Box at a U-Haul store in the 900 block of IH-35 South. They then headed to the bike shop around 2:30 a.m., where they loaded multiple e-bikes and batteries valued at over $60,000 into the moving truck.

Surveillance images from the scene show the U-Haul truck, as well as one suspect scaling the shop and crawling on the floor during the burglary. The police are asking the public for assistance in identifying the individuals involved in this crime.

  • License Plate: AE37747 (Arizona)
  • Design: U-Haul’s Venture Across America design #135, featuring a firefly from Indiana.

In their effort to recover the stolen merchandise and apprehend the suspects, the NBPD has urged anyone with information to come forward. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $4,000 for tips leading to an arrest or grand jury indictment.
