Super73’s Mysterious New E-Bike Has Everyone Scratching Their Heads

Super73 has unveiled a brand-new e-bike, and it’s turning heads for all the right — and wrong — reasons. The company showed off the MZFT at the Moto Beach Classic in Orange County, California. But while it looks sleek and fresh, no one seems quite sure who it’s for.

A Mysterious Reveal at the Moto Beach Classic

The MZFT features a completely new frame design. It has a flip-up seat with hidden storage, multiple battery options, and the familiar wide tires Super73 riders love. You’ll also find a rear hub motor and rigid frame and fork, sticking to the brand’s rugged aesthetic.

A sticker on the bike shows it’s a Class 2 e-bike, meaning it’s limited to 20 mph and comes with a throttle. Not sure what that means? Check out our E-Bike Classes Explained page for a full breakdown of e-bike categories and where each is allowed to ride.

A Smaller Frame for Younger Riders

From the photos, the MZFT looks smaller than Super73’s usual heavy hitters. The company even showed younger riders in their promo shots, suggesting this model might be aimed at teens and young adults.

The Teen E-Bike Trend

Across the U.S., teen e-bike culture is booming. Groups of kids zip through neighborhoods and city streets on their Super73s and similar bikes. Some people see it as fun and freedom. Others worry about safety and speed.

Finding Balance: Fun Meets Safety

Super73 has tried to walk that fine line before. They’ve released updates to keep bikes street-legal while still being exciting to ride. With the MZFT, they may be trying to balance fun with responsibility — creating something stylish but still within legal limits.

Launch Details and What’s Next

The MZFT officially launches in stores on November 8, with online sales opening November 10. We’ll know more soon about its battery, range, and power output — details that could make or break how this new model is received.

My Take

This launch feels like Super73 testing new waters. The company clearly sees the youth market growing fast — kids who want something cooler than a scooter but safer (and more legal) than a dirt bike.

I think the MZFT could hit that sweet spot if it’s priced right and offers solid battery life. It might also be Super73’s way of easing parents’ worries about safety while keeping teens excited about electric bikes.

Still, the lack of full specs makes me cautious. For now, it’s more curiosity than clarity. But that mystery is part of Super73’s style — and it’s working. Everyone’s talking.
