eBliss Global Is Launching U.S. E‑Bike Production!

Last Updated on July 24, 2025 by Kristina

Big news in clean transport—eBliss Global is setting up a factory in Utica, New York! This means American-made e‑bikes are right around the corner.

What’s the Plan?

  • The Austin, Texas–based company will invest more than $4.1 million in an assembly and distribution facility at 20 Harbor Point Road, downtown Utica
  • Construction is underway, with production scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2025

Jobs & Community Impact

  • At least 40 direct jobs will be created, including roles in assembly, quality control, logistics, and technician support
  • The facility can scale up to 100,000 e‑bikes per year, but will start with around 15,000 units annually
  • The state is offering up to $500,000 in performance-based Excelsior tax credits to support the project

Leadership & Local Support

  • Bill Klehm, eBliss’s CEO, brings decades of experience in automotive and bike manufacturing—instrumental in launching Europe’s e‑bike market
  • His design chief, Tony Ellsworth, founded Ellsworth mountain bikes; VP Steve Richey is also an industry veteran
  • Empire State Development (ESD) is backing the move. Utica’s mayor, state senator, and county exec celebrated this as a boost for local jobs and green industry

Why Utica?

  • Utica is centrally located in the Northeast—rail‑linked and close to Albany/Syracuse, making distribution easy
  • Harbor Point is a revitalized district. NY State has already poured around $12.7 million into upgrading infrastructure and commercial space there
  • There’s a skilled, blue‑collar workforce ready in Oneida County.

?Why This Matters

  1. Faster Delivery: No need to wait weeks for imports. U.S. production = quicker delivery.
  2. Eco‑Friendly: Shorter transport distances mean less pollution.
  3. Home‑grown Jobs: Local workers earn good wages.
  4. Clean‑tech Momentum: Builds the U.S. industry in electric, sustainable mobility.
