Giant Recalls Momentum Vida E+ E‑Bikes

Giant Bicycle has issued a recall of about 6,200 Momentum Vida E+ electric bikes.
The cause? A faulty steerer tube in the fork. It can crack or break while riding.
That creates a serious risk: the front wheel may detach. Riders could crash or fall.
? What You Should Do
- Stop riding your Vida E+ immediately.
- Check the serial number on your bike. It’s stamped on the left rear dropout or on a sticker under the downtube.
If the third character is:
- H, J, or K → your bike is part of the recall. A free fork replacement is required.
- G → your bike needs a visual inspection by an authorized Giant dealer.
Giant will cover all inspection and replacement costs. No receipt or proof of purchase is required.
Which Bikes Are Affected?
- Model years: 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2024.
- Sold from September 2019 through May 2025.
- Models retailed for $2,500–$3,200.
Colors included:
- Metallic Red, Pearl White, Metallic Green, Metallic Navy Blue, Indigo, Happy Mint, and Panther.
- Available in mid-step and low-step frames across small, medium, and large sizes.
Why This Is Serious
- The steerer tube links your handlebars to the front wheel.
- If it fails, you lose steering control.
- At typical e-bike speeds (up to 20 mph), that can cause a sudden crash.
Four cases of broken tubes have been reported so far—but no injuries.
Still, Giant and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) say the risk is real.
