Teen Dies in Las Vegas E-Bike Crash: What We Know

A 16-year-old boy has died after a crash involving an e-bike and a pickup truck in Las Vegas. The accident happened on Sunday, April 28, in the northwest part of the city.
Another teen was seriously injured. Both were riding the same e-bike.
How It Happened
According to Las Vegas police, the e-bike was going south on Grand Canyon Drive. The teens did not stop at a stop sign. As they crossed the street, they were hit by a Toyota Tundra.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. It was dark at the time.
The Victims
The rider, a 16-year-old boy, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He later died from his injuries.
The passenger, also a teen, was seriously hurt but survived. He is being treated at University Medical Center.
Both were wearing helmets.
What About the Driver?
The driver of the pickup truck stayed at the scene. Police say the driver did not appear to be speeding, drinking, or under the influence of drugs.
No charges have been filed as of now.

E-bike crashes are becoming more common, especially among young riders. E-bikes can go fast and are often used in traffic, like regular bikes or scooters.
