• Cypress is considering a ban on Class 2 and Class 3 e-bikes on sidewalks due to safety concerns, particularly with young riders speeding through pedestrian areas at up to 28 mph.
• Orange has implemented regulations controlling sidewalk speed limits and street riding standards.

Law enforcement is already stepping up efforts to ensure compliance. In a single-day operation, Cypress police issued 37 citations to e-bike riders violating the new rules. According to Orange Police Chief Adam Jevec, some e-bikes can reach speeds of 50 mph, making regulation and enforcement critical. The Call for County-Wide Standardization
