Tern Bicycles has joined forces with Upway, the refurbished e-bike marketplace, to make upgrading your ride easier and greener. The new trade-in program launched on August 17, 2025 at select U.S. Tern dealers.
This partnership lets riders bring in almost any e-bike, get instant credit, and apply it directly to a brand-new Tern.
How the Program Works
- Bring in your old e-bike
Any brand, any condition. Most e-bikes made after 2014 are eligible.
You’ll need the charger, battery key, and the bike must be structurally sound. - Get instant valuation
Dealers use Upway’s pricing tool to calculate value based on brand, age, mileage, and resale demand.
In some cases, you may get up to 50% of your bike’s original value as trade-in credit. - Apply credit immediately
Use it right away toward your new Tern purchase.

Test ride different Tern bikes.
Get fitted by professionals.
Add accessories and have them installed on the spot. - Give your old e-bike a second life
