Stealth B-52R: The Overpowered Ebike That Laughs at Limits

Spread the love

Last Updated on May 7, 2025 by Kristina

Back in 2015, the original Stealth B-52 turned heads and raised eyebrows. It was loud, aggressive, and didn’t give a second thought to rules. At a time when ebikes were still gaining traction, the B-52 went full throttle—part mountain bike, part dirt bike, and entirely rebellious.

Fast forward to 2025. Ebikes are everywhere. Commuters love them. Delivery riders rely on them. They’re also pulling more people into active lifestyles. What once felt niche is now normal.

But Stealth? They never aimed for normal.

The new B-52R is here, and it’s even more ridiculous—in the best way. Think of it as the original’s turbocharged cousin. The hub motor now pushes out a whopping 8 kW (11 hp). Torque jumps from 120 Nm to 230 Nm (that’s 170 lb-ft, for those keeping score). It’s faster, more efficient, and way quieter. Around 40 dB, according to the company—that’s fridge-level quiet.

Just don’t expect fridge-level speed. Some owners report topping 100 km/h (62 mph). Let that sink in. On a bike. With pedals.

Yes, this beast still has pedals.

Founder John Karambalis admits it’s hard to keep the front wheel down. The power and torque are that extreme. Steering gets tricky. Fun tricky.

The B-52R still rocks a 6-speed electromechanical gear system. You can pedal when you feel like it—or just twist and fly. And just like the original, the frame is nearly indestructible. Lifetime warranty. Enough said.

Braking gets a big upgrade too. Out go the 203-mm e-MTB brakes. In come 250-mm motorcycle-grade rotors. Bigger wheels now—27.5-inch rims, dirtbike knobby in the back. Fewer flats, more grip. Suspension’s no joke either: 180 mm up front, 200 mm at the rear. Total enduro vibes.

Battery capacity climbs to 2.5 kWh. That gives you about 60 km (37 miles) per charge. Takes three hours to top up. At 70 kg (154 lb), it’s still lighter than a dirt bike. Low center of gravity helps keep it manageable. But yeah—it’s hefty for an ebike.

Street legal? Probably not. Not unless your streets are made of dreams. The massive hub motor and aggressive stance give it away. This isn’t a stealthy ride, despite the name.

But wow, is it a showstopper.

At $8,890, the B-52R isn’t cheap. It’s more than double the cost of a Sur-Ron. But it’s also in a class of its own. Wild power. Nearly silent. Rugged build. Pedals. Yes, it costs—but you’re paying for a different breed of machine.

Stealth keeps pushing boundaries. And in a world full of safe, sensible rides, it’s awesome to see one go absolutely feral.
