Current Recall Status

Norco now lists this as a MY25 Sight VLT CX voluntary safety recall. The company says it is conducting the recall in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The original 2025 stop-ride notice described an investigation into a possible rear-brake mounting issue. Later official recall information established the remedy: affected bikes should receive a free replacement seatstay.

Which Norco Sight VLT CX Bikes Are Affected?

The official Canadian recall identifies the following model-year 2025 bikes:

• Sight VLT CX C1 150 – green
• Sight VLT CX C2 150 – purple
• Sight VLT CX C3 150 – white

The affected sizes are SZ2, SZ3, SZ4 and SZ5.

If you are unsure whether a particular bike is included, contact an authorized Norco dealer and have the bike checked against the recall information. Do not rely only on color, appearance, or a visual inspection of the seatstay.

What Can Go Wrong With the Rear Brake?

Health Canada says that, as of July 29, 2025, Norco had received no reports of injuries in Canada related to this issue.

The Canadian recall notice says 55 affected units were sold in Canada from April 1 through April 25, 2025. It also identifies Vietnam as the country of manufacture.

Those figures are Canadian data. They should not be interpreted as a worldwide or U.S. injury or sales total.

Australia

Australia’s official product-safety recall lists a regional sales period of April 3 through July 9, 2025.

That date range applies to the Australian recall and is separate from the Canadian sales period above.

Why the Original Stop-Ride Notice Changed

The earliest 2025 notice told riders to stop using the bike while Norco investigated the rear-brake mounting problem. At that stage, the long-term remedy had not yet been established publicly.

The later recall notices provided the more complete answer: the affected seatstay should be replaced at no charge through an authorized dealer.

That is why this updated article no longer tells owners that the fix is simply a replacement brake insert.
